Zurich Instruments Germany is a test and measurement company with the goal to advance science and to support the development of useful quantum computers. In 2008, ZI’s mother company Zurich Instruments AG has been founded as a spinoff from ETH Zurich in Switzerland. After subsidiaries in the US and in China had been set up, the German branch was established in 2021. In the same year, Zurich Instruments AG has been acquired by Rohde & Schwarz, a large German company focusing on test and measurement and secure communications, among others.
Zurich Instruments Germany focuses on applications in quantum technologies and close collaboration with local users in Germany and Europe.
Zurich Instruments Germany develops tools and algorithms for the operation of useful quantum computers. To this end, Zurich Instruments brings forward software integration of room-temperature control electronics. Together with the project consortium, Zurich Instruments’ application scientists will develop device requirements and tests to make sure the room-temperature electronic sub-system is ready for all use cases in OpenSuperQPlus100 and for the scale-up to 1,000 qubits.
